Handpans
The instrument is constructed from two half-shells of deep drawn, nitrited steel sheet. They are glued together at the rim leaving the inside hollow and creating the shape of a convex lens. At the top 9 – 12 tone fields are hammered around the center. For customized instruments additional tone fields can be added at the bottom up to a maximum of 21 tones in total.
Opsilon is made with the same physical principles as a steelpan but the creator wanted to express his own sound. For this, he spent years of research on materials, sounds, and forms. The result is a soft sounding and meditative instrument that can touch the soul of the player and the listener. Opsilon is one of the most famous handpan companies in the world.
Opsilon instruments – made with dedication and love.
