Join us for the renowned handpan workshops with either Kate Stone or Rafael Sotomayor, introducing you to the Opsilon handpan.
Learn from two of the most seasoned handpan musicians, each with over 15 years of experience.
All workshops are held at our Opsilon seminar house in Süßen.

Is it hard to play Handpan?
Don’t worry, learning to play on a handpan is easy! Especially if you learn together with Rafael and Kate.
Discover this magical instrument and experience pure joy as Kate and Rafael give you all the tools you need. In our workshops you get the best possible start on your handpan adventure. With their guidance, you will be able to play independently in the future and create your own music. So in short, learning to play the handpan is not only accessible to everyone, it also gives the players and listeners joy!
The advanced handpan workshops are aimed at players with a certain level of experience. The advanced workshop will take you even further and enrich your playing with more facets. The advanced workshop focuses on harmonies, rhythm and composition.
Our beginner workshops consist of the following:
Introduction to the instrument
1. Playing techniques
2. Musical basics for the handpan
3. Composing on the handpan
4. Effects on us – Healing
Important Information
1. Handpans will be provided for the workshop.
2. Participation also includes an option to purchase an instrument.
3. Remember that there is a waiting list of at least 2 to 3 months for an Opsilon handpan.
4. The workshop is an opportunity to purchase an Opsilon handpan.
5. Our handpan workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to learn how to play this fascinating instrument.
6. If you find your instrument in the workshop, you can take it home with you straight away.
7. When you purchase a handpan package on our website (D Minor 9, 10, 11 or 13, with PU zipper case or fiberglass hard case) you will receive a 50€ voucher for any of Rafael’s workshops.
8. When you purchase an instrument at Rafael’s workshop, you will receive a €50 voucher for another workshop with Rafael in the future.

Saturday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. + campfire with music
Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
